A bit hidden in the green lies the largest fortification of the New Dutch Water Line: the fort at Rhijnauwen. Historically unique due to the separate architecture and integrity. But also as a nature reserve it is of great value. Because it was not accessible to the public for years, it has become a paradise for many plants and animals. Meanwhile, the fort can be visited during guided tours; an ideal combination of nature and history.
