Room map

If anything is unclear, please contact the reception. Dial 9 on the telephone in the room/suite.

  • Pharmacy/doctor

    The reception can be reached 24 hours a day at number 9. Should you need the general practitioners, pharmacist, or the hospital, the reception will assist you with this.

  • Luggage compartment

    It is possible to use the luggage storage at the reception. Van der Valk Hotel Houten is not liable for loss and/or damage to your belongings.

  • Baby bed

    It is possible to reserve a baby cot (0-3 years). We charge a surcharge for placing a baby cot in the room. For more information, please contact the reception.

  • Payment method

    We accept the following payment methods:
    - Debit/Maestro
    - Credit card
    - Cash
    - Van der Valk Giftcard
    - Dinerbon.nl Giftcard.

    When reserving a room, we will hold it for you until 18:00. You have two options to confirm the reservation: you can pay for the reservation in advance via the payment link that will be sent a few days before the reservation, or you can authorize the reservation by credit card to ensure that the room is guaranteed for your stay.

    Should you wish to book a package, the terms and conditions of FLEX24 apply. You must pay for your package online 24 hours in advance. Cancellations are possible up to 24 hours before arrival, instead of until 18:00 on the day itself.

    If you wish to pay in cash, please note that we do not accept €200 and €500 banknotes.

  • Visit

    Visits after 10:00 PM are not permitted; we allow a maximum of 2 guests per room type, with the exception of rooms where an extra bed has been placed. If we observe that multiple persons are present in the room, we will take measures accordingly.

  • Fire safety

    Fire Safety

    The entire building is equipped with smoke detectors. If you detect a fire anywhere, please follow these steps:

    1. Report the fire.

    - Press the manual alarm and call 9 or 030 634 6800.

    - Report to us: Who you are, what is burning, where it is burning, and whether anyone is in danger.

    2. Warn people in the immediate vicinity.

    3. Extinguish the fire if possible (follow the instructions on the extinguisher); please note: your own safety comes first.

    4. Close windows and doors, leave your personal belongings, and leave the room towards the emergency exits.

    5. Do not use the elevator, but the stairs.

    6. Walk directly to the assembly point; this will be indicated by staff members of Van der Valk Hotel Houten.

    7. At the assembly point, check if everyone in your party is safe.

    8. Report to the staff members standing at the assembly location so that we know you are safe.

  • AED/First Aid

    An AED and first aid kit are available at the reception.

  • Bathrobe

    Would you like more luxury during your stay? Then you can rent a wonderfully soft bathrobe from us. For more information, please contact our reception.

  • Lost and found

    Did you lose something during your stay at Van der Valk Hotel Houten? Don't worry, we have an efficient system called 'iLost' for lost and found items. Do you recognize something of your own? You can pick it up directly at the reception or easily claim it via the website. As soon as you submit a claim, we will ensure that the lost item is returned to you as quickly as possible. Your comfort and convenience are our top priority, even when it comes to lost items. Click on the Link to see the lost items.

  • Hotel bar

    Discover our renovated bar on the ground floor. Enjoy a cozy atmosphere, drinks, and delicious snacks during our extended opening hours. We look forward to welcoming you!

    Our hotel bar is open from 4:00 PM to midnight.

  • Pets

    Pets are not allowed in the hotel. Upon discovery of pets in the room, a cleaning fee of €75 will be charged and this will result in immediate expulsion from the hotel. However, we are happy to make an exception for guide dogs and assistance dogs, who are most welcome.

  • Internet

    Need to quickly check your email or update your social media? You can connect to a wireless network anywhere in the hotel using the network name Hotel Houten. This is possible with your phone, tablet, laptop, and other mobile devices. No access code or password is required.

  • Wellness

    In need of doing absolutely nothing for a while? Then unwind in our wellness area. Our wellness facilities are available to our hotel guests without restriction.

  • Safe

    You will find a safe in the wardrobe in your room. The instructions for use are located on the front of the safe. Do not leave money or other valuables unattended in your room. The management is not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings.

  • Complaints

    If you have a comment or complaint, please contact the reception. We will always try to resolve your complaint immediately. You can also send your comments or recommendations to receptie@houten.valk.nl

  • Pillows/duvets

    There are two different types of pillows in the room, with two of each type per room. If these are not to your liking, please contact the reception. They will then see what they can do for you.

  • Defects

    If you experience any defects in your hotel room, please report them to the reception. Where possible, we will rectify these as soon as possible.

  • Do not disturb

    You will find the “do not disturb” door hanger in your room. If you do not wish to be disturbed, please hang it on the outside of the door. The colleagues from the Housekeeping department will then hang a bag with new towels on your door.

  • Emergency/emergency exits

    In case of emergency, please contact the reception immediately at number 9. All emergency exits are clearly marked and are also listed on a floor plan on your room door. We advise you to familiarize yourself with the nearest emergency exit.

  • Breakfast

    The breakfast buffet is located in the restaurant.
    Monday to Friday 06:30 – 10:00.
    Saturday and Sunday 07:00 – 11:00.


    It is also possible to order breakfast in bed; a room service fee of €5 per person applies for this. You can inform our reception of this the evening before.

  • Public transport

    You can obtain information about public transport in the area at the reception or check this website.
    The bus stop is located in front of the hotel.

  • Parking

    For your convenience, we offer free parking with no fewer than 750 parking spaces. Additionally, you can also charge your car at Hotel Houten! The charging stations have a capacity of 11 kW.

    We currently have 40 charging stations available, including:

    - 3 fast chargers

    - 16 Tesla chargers

    - 20 Valk Energy chargers.

    If you own an electric car, you likely also have a subscription to charge it on the go. If you are staying with us overnight, for meetings, lunch, dinner, etc., we kindly request that you move your car as soon as it is fully charged so that another user can also make use of the charging stations.

  • Reception

    We are at the reception 24 hours a day.
    During the night (from 23:00 to 06:00), the reception is staffed by a night receptionist.

  • Restaurant

    The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 22:00, and on Saturday and Sunday from 07:00 to 22:00. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the restaurant throughout the day. We recommend reserving a table via the reception to avoid disappointment.

  • Smoking

    If smoking is detected in the room, a cleaning fee of €175.00 will be charged. It is strictly forbidden to disable the smoke detector or any parts thereof, or to interfere with its operation. If the fire alarm is triggered due to smoking in the room, we will charge you the fire department call-out fee of €275.00. This must be paid immediately at the reception. Upon detection of one or both of these cases, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without refund of any paid costs/deposit.

  • Roomservice

    We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to enjoy our room service between 12:00 and 21:00. To do so, simply scan the QR code in your room or call our reception at 9. Payment can easily be made with exact cash, via an online payment link, or with a credit card guarantee at the reception. You can view the menu via this link. Please note that a surcharge of €12.50 applies for room service.

  • Iron and ironing board

    If you wish to use an iron and ironing board, you can find them in the cupboard in the room.

  • Taxi

    If you wish to use a taxi, please let the reception know. They will be happy to reserve a taxi for you.

  • Telephone

    Reception: Number 9

    - Internal: It is not possible to make calls from room to room using our telephones.

    - External: To make an external call, please contact the reception; they will connect you to the desired persons. You may need to provide a telephone number for this.

    - Emergency numbers: The police, ambulance, or fire department can be reached via the reception.

    Emergencies:

    If you find yourself in a medical emergency in your room, please contact the reception immediately using number 9 or by calling 030 634 6800.

    Please tell us: Who you are, what is happening, and whether there are other guests nearby. The reception will then immediately dispatch the appropriate assistance.

    Whether you are on the go or just in the mood for a quick snack, we have the solution for you. In our To Go Shop, you are fully equipped with every convenience. From savory snacks to books, from drinks to practical items like chargers, we have something for every need. And best of all? Everything is ready to take away immediately.

  • Toiletries

    Forgot your toothbrush, razor, or other toiletries? These are available in our Valk To Go Shop.

  • Check out

    We kindly ask you to check out before 11:00 AM from Monday to Friday and before 12:00 PM on weekends. If you wish to stay longer in your room, this is subject to availability and payment of an extension fee.

    As a Valk Loyal guest, you can make use of a free Lazy Sunday on Sundays. This is subject to availability.

  • Safety

    To enhance the safety of our guests and staff, Van der Valk Hotel Houten is equipped with a fire alarm system. To ensure the proper functioning of this system and to prevent false alarms and unnecessary fire brigade call-outs, it is of great importance that you observe the following:

    It is strictly forbidden to switch off the system or any parts thereof, or to interfere with its operation. Upon detection of this, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without refund of any paid costs/deposit.
    Smoking is not permitted in the building. Upon detection of this, you will be fined and immediately removed from the hotel without refund of any paid costs/deposit.
    It is not permitted to light candles and/or incense in your room.
    It is not permitted to create open fires or set off fireworks.
    It is not permitted to use smoke machines or similar devices.

    In all the above cases, management will make a decision regarding any potential sanction.

  • Laundry/dry cleaning

    In the wardrobe in your room, you will find a laundry bag with the accompanying laundry form. If you hand in your laundry at the reception before 8:00 AM, you can expect to receive your cleaned laundry back the same day. This service is available from Monday to Friday. The rates can be found on the laundry form. Van der Valk Hotel Houten accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage.

  • Wake-up service

    Please contact the reception and provide your desired wake-up time.

  • Meeting rooms

    Do you have a meeting, conference, or gathering planned? Ask the Sales department about the possibilities or view our website.

  • Fitness

    Hotel Houten now offers hotel guests a completely renovated fitness room with the latest equipment and an inspiring view. On the 15th floor, you will find state-of-the-art equipment, ideal for an energetic start to the day or a relaxing end.

  • Green Choice/Orange Choice

    During your stay, your hotel room is cleaned daily as standard. However, when you choose 'Green Choice', you contribute directly to a better environment. Every time a guest chooses to skip room cleaning, a tree is planted in Scotland. With 'Orange Choice', we plant half a tree. This is part of the broader Valk Exclusief Trees4Next program.

  • Liability

    Van der Valk Hotel Houten cannot be held liable for lost items from the hotel room, meeting room, or public areas (this also includes the cloakroom and lockers).

  • Extra bed

    An extra bed can be added subject to availability, room type, and for a fee.

  • Bicycle parking

    Behind the hotel, we have a secure and covered bicycle storage area accessible only to hotel guests with their room key.

  • Bicycle rental

    Bicycle rental is available. You will receive a €5.00 discount per bicycle with an online reservation. Please inquire at the reception for more information on prices and availability.

  • Hair dryer

    You can find a hairdryer in the bathroom.

  • Streaming service

    At our hotel, we want to ensure that your stay is as pleasant as possible. Therefore, we offer the option on all our TVs to log in to your favorite streaming services using your own account. However, please note that on the day of check-out, the login details will be automatically deleted at 12:00 PM.

  • Sauna

    Each themed suite features a private sauna. To turn it on, please press and hold the on/off button on the wall panel for at least 3 seconds. A timer will then start counting down from 3 to 0, after which the sauna will begin preheating. If you experience any problems with the sauna, please contact the reception immediately.
